Create a perfect free running ledger set up for catfish using this kit unique to M&N Tackle created from the superb Catfish Pro range of terminal tackle. It is well known that a resistance free set up is incredibly successful when catfishing with boilies, pellets and other baits fished on the bottom and this kit allows you to use the excellent Dropdown sinking rig tubing yet retain a free running lead set up which is completely safe.

To create your free running rig, simply cut your desired length of tubing from the 2m length supplied, and at one end use a sharp pair of rig scissors and cut the tubing at an angle to create a slight point (see image)....this is important! The end of the tubing needs to locate into the small hole in the buffer bead, which is very small so we find it best to use a bait drill of around 4mm diameter to simply bore the hole out a little to facilitate this. You can also do this using the blade on some rig scissors with minimal effort. Once the hole is slightly enlarged, simply push the end of the tubing in and the rubber bead will grip the tubing nice and firmly as it has a lovely soft compound.
Lastly, simply slide your slider ring and weight clip down the tubing and you are ready to go once the tubing is threaded onto your main line and you have attached your rig. The buffer bead should sit nicely over the eye of your rig swivel to create a perfectly neat running set up. Another bonus of using tubing is of course to protect the flanks of the cat during the fight which is very important!
